Operate station and systems in accordance with Administrative, Procedural, and Regulatory requirements.
Inspect assigned equipment, complete documentation associated with these inspections, and adjust equipment as necessary for proper equipment and system operation.
Monitor trends in equipment performance and inform control room of any unexpected indications.
Identify and initiate actions for material condition issues.
Perform the initial actions required in response to an off-normal condition, and perform follow up actions as directed.
Identify and correct any abnormal conditions, hazards to personnel or equipment, or challenges to continuous service, if possible, and report any findings to the control room.
As a member of the site Fire Brigade, perform fire fighting, rescue and chemical spill response activities.
Perform surveillances and special test activities
Satisfactorily participate in a continuing training program structured to maintain and enhance job proficiency skills and prepare for NRC license examination.
Applicant will be required to successfully complete the following to be considered for the position:
Plant Operations System Selection (POSS) test
Fire Brigade physical
Requisites to obtain unescorted access to the power plant, which include: psychological examination, drug screen and security background check.
Target Employment Dates:
Feb- March 2011 - POSS test will be given at Comanche Peak and interviews will take place.
March – April 2011 - Offers will be made and Fire Brigade Physicals given at Comanche Peak .
June 06, 2011 - Report for Nuclear Equipment Operator initial class
January 2012 - Transfer to a normally assigned Shift Operations Crew on a five-week, rotating twelve-hour shift, with occasional callout and refueling outage overtime.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Prefer one or more of the following requirements:
Associate’s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering
Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, or Engineering
Previous Nuclear experience (Navy or Commercial)
Previous Fossil experience
Physical demands and working conditions:
Must be able to climb stairs, work above ground, and lift loads up to fifty pounds
Must be able to be a radiation worker
