We are looking for an experienced Buyer to lead and expand major categories in our fast growing, home-focused flash sale business. This is an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneurial, focused, and ambitious professional who has a flair and passion for the home and is interested in a role with a rapid growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
Forge and expand strong supplier partnerships
Negotiate buying terms with suppliers (selection, price, quantity, and delivery terms) and develop pipeline of sales events
Attend trade shows and exhibits, conduct buying trips on a regular basis
Develop category strategy and regularly provide new category recommendations
Collaborate with Merchandising/Event Production team to maximize sell through and item velocity
Maintain industry expertise; keep abreast of trends and new product ideas
Partner with Chief Curator to ensure that product offering is consistent with brand positioning
Desired Skills & Experience
2+ years buying, sales, or directly relevant experience within the home furniture, home décor, interiors, housewares, tabletop or lifestyle markets is required. Home/Interior Design industry experience is a must-have. Alternatively, candidates who have done buying for online-only or flash-sale sites will be considered.
Articulate, persuasive communicator with strong negotiating skills
Goal oriented, entrepreneurial self-starter
Savvy, quick thinking and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
Familiarity with private sales trends and developments
Flair and passion for interior decorating
Willing and available to travel
BA/BS
Background in retail or merchandising
Demonstrated success in a directly relevant role
