AS STATED IN NUP 64, NEW HIRES AND EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE TRANSFERRED INTO A POSTED POSITION ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN THEIR CURRENT POSITION FOR ONE YEAR BEFORE APPLYING FOR A SYSTEM JOB POSTING. IN ADDITION, EMPLOYEES NEED TO INFORM THEIR SUPERVISOR WHEN APPLYING FOR A POSTED JOB.
A high school diploma or the equivalent, with one year of college courses preferred and eight years of specifically related technical experience in an electrical utility line construction/operation position OR a Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent and five years of experience in a comparable field are required. Supervisory experience is preferred.
Supervises, coordinates and plans the construction, operation, and maintenance of the overhead electric distribution system and assigned direct buried distribution work within the District. Assists the Field Supervisor - Lines with the overall management of the department's resources. Utilizes the work management and maintenance computer systems to manage the department workload and crew assignments. Participates in and ensures completion of safety programs; ensures adherence to safe work practices. Ensures that capital and expense work is accomplished both cost effectively and on budget while adhering to construction standards. Coordinates and participates in the accomplishment of skills training. Assigns appropriate manpower, vehicles, and specialized tools and equipment to efficiently and effectively meet work requirements. Requests and checks switching instructions, supervises, and coordinates performance of switching. Contacts customers to ensure that jobs can be performed as planned/scheduled and that all requirements are satisfied. Serves on-call, analyzes trouble calls, and supervises line personnel engaged in emergency restoration activities. Supervises within the provisions of the agreement between the Company and the local bargaining unit.
