We have an immediate opening for a Process Safety Management (PSM) Supervisor with 5+ years of experience at the Sweeny Complex located in Sweeny, Texas. This site is located south of Houston. Non-company sponsored van pools are available from both Sugar Land and Pearland, TX. The successful candidate will ensure overall compliance with the OSHA PSM regulation and corporate and OE PSM Procedures. Also, the role involves leading the site to develop a proper and proactive PSM culture.
The PSM Supervisor leads a team of three engineers (Mechanical Integrity Engineer, PSM Engineer/OE Coordinator and PSM Grad Engineer). In addition to ensuring overall compliance with the PSM regulation, the PSM group is the owner of the following specific elements of this regulation: Employee Participation, Process Hazards Analysis, Pre-Startup Safety Review, Mechanical Integrity, Management of Change and Compliance Audits.
This position has overall responsibility for the sites efforts to eliminate overdue KMS items. The PSM Supervisor also has oversight over the site’s Risk Management Steering Committee. This group, made up of reps from Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Training and Technical Departments manages the site’s risk portfolio.
PSM Departmental responsibilities include: Facility Siting, NIFO Audits, PSM Metrics, creating and updating site PSM and OE Plans, providing PSM and OE New Employee Safety Training, auditing the site’s MRI system and Conduct of Operation and Operational Discipline.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Process Safety Related Field.
- A minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience or Process Safety Experience supporting manufacturing processes.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the LOPA process and PHA process.
- Previous Process Safety or Facility Siting experience is preferred.
- Previous first line supervisor experience is preferred.
