Job Purpose

Direct and manage Global Shared Services Transformation Management Office (TMO). This role is responsible for managing business transformation initiatives across the global Finance Shared Services organization, providing a governance structure that sustains long-term organizational change initiatives, ensuring the corporation’s assets as related to fleet are protected through the functions of Vehicle Control and Traffic Violations/Toll Billing. In addition, the role provides visibility into each transformation initiative, insures the accountability for, and enables the predictability of, the outcomes of each transformation initiative, leads functional acquisition and integration efforts and overall Global FSS project management.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Capitalizes on the unified approach to projects, achieving project success with lower cost and risk
  • Ensures the right initiatives are undertaken and the benefits are being fully realized throughout the enterprise to make the transformation real
  • Assesses the initiatives for their risk and return, reporting on the day-to-day status of the initiatives
  • Champions project management disciplines and provides the processes, structures, and tools for individual project management and program management across the transformation
  • Functions as the nerve center for the alignment of Finance Shared Services, Business and IT strategy within the organization
  • Serves as a communication medium to the whole company and executive sponsors of the transformations
Quarterback for change management initiatives and communications across all of Finance Shared Services

Key Result Areas

FSS Business Service Strategy/Planning – Provide support and guidance to the VP, Finance Shared Services for short and long-term strategy development. Support the Shared Services leadership team in gaining organizational and Business Unit customer alignment behind the agenda. Lead processes to imbed strategy in the organization. Provide strategic leadership to Shared Services organization through leading, facilitating or advising strategy development while demonstrating foresight, conceptual capability and environmental market awareness. Research, identify and analyze significant deals, alliances and partnerships. Collaborate with key functional leaders to refine and evolve Business Management Process (BMP) to streamline processes, eliminate work where possible and ultimately improve overall value to the business units Finance Shared Services supports.

Project Strategy/Planning - Ensure that the approved projects fully achieve the anticipated business benefit. Ensure deliverables meet schedule, budget and quality goals by working with individual teams, especially IT, on developing detailed project plans, schedules and objectives. Responsible for creating and maintaining successful alliances with key project stakeholders. Delivers quality systems solutions to business problems. Responsible to manage approved project through 5 stages: initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing. Develop and review status reports and implementation plans for each of the sub-teams, raising issues to Shared Services management as appropriate. Lead project status reviews and focus discussion around work plan slippage, project dependency, critical issues and agreed actions to resolve. Develop consolidated weekly program status report and program dashboard. Maintain issues log and follow-up on over-due action items. Conduct post implementation reviews in order to capture learning’s and ensure continuance improvement of project performance.

Communication and Change Management - Develop and issue regular status updates to project teams and key stakeholders on a regular basis. Ensure all communications are timely, thorough and concise. Serve as the key liaison between working team and Shared Services management. Establish methods to ensure continuous improvement of business processes within project teams and operational teams. Share learning’s across Shared Services global organization. Manage communications with internal and external parties.

Continuous Improvement - Responsible for the development and sustainment of “Process Excellence” and initiatives. Including training and pursuit of continuous improvement opportunities with the Global Shared Services functional teams. Track and report initiatives progress, issues and savings achievements.

Performance Management – Partner with the Global Shared Services functional leadership to develop, implement and maintain a performance driven culture. Develop and coordinate the Shared Services Customer Satisfaction Measurement program. This includes the data analysis and follow-up action planning. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the Shared Services Service Catalog & Service Level Agreements.

Vehicle Control – Oversee the monitoring of overdue vehicle as it relates to volume, age of overdues, process, policies, and strategy. Control in this area will prove to assist in the area of unit utilization, damage control, and charge back control which affect corporate revenue. Limit the number of thefts through proper procedural and monitoring practices. Insure renter’s being placed on Do Not Rent conform to the guidelines or non-permanent DNR’s are removed within the parameters outlined. Monitor results to ensure top customer service is provided to those inquiring as to their rental status. Review Driving records for employees whose job involves driving Hertz owned vehicles to ensure they do not place a liability risk on the company.

Traffic Violations and Toll Billing – this processing function is transitioned through ATS. Oversight of this function is required to ensure turnaround, customer service, and other metrics stated in the contract are delivered.

Oversee special projects as assigned by the Vice President, Finance Shared Services.

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, IT or Business

MBA is desirable

PMP Certification is preferred

Six Sigma Certification is preferred

Professional Experience:

12-15 years’ experience in a shared services leadership role

Knowledge:

Strong technical accounting and analytical financial knowledge

Solid understanding and working knowledge of Project Management

Skills:

Ability to handle multiple projects

Excellent communication and leadership skills
