This position specializes in areas of Quality Control Engineering, such as Design, Incoming Material, Process Control, Product Evaluation, Systems Performance, Hardware Performance, Product Reliability, Inventory Control, Metrology, Automated Testing, Software, Research and Development, and Administrative Application. This position is responsible for driving strategic quality initiatives while working directly with internal/external customers and suppliers. The Quality Specialist has the responsibility to identify opportunities and provide leadership to make quality a competitive advantage for OMNI and its customers. This position is required to manage multiple projects and changing priorities, and work effectively in a team environment. This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Management System in accordance with the documented procedures, quality standards and regulatory requirements.The following are areas of direct responsibility or those which, as assigned, would require assistance and or participation: Incoming and In-Process inspections, Supplier Qualification, Equipment Calibration, Process Validations, including but not limited to the quality activities and functions as designated. Accountable for ensuring that process and product deficiencies are brought to the attention of management and resolved and ensuring compliance with applicable industry, national, and international standards.Supporting Process Improvement initiatives: Performing and supporting internal and supplier audits in accordance with the company's internal audit program. Review other Quality System documents as required. Verify and validate changes and improvements to documents under the Quality Change Control System. Review corrective actions to assess effectiveness of solutions. Annually review the Quality System documents that are directly related to the duties of this position (Material Review Board, Final Inspection, Equipment Calibration, etc). Coordinate the annual calibration of test equipment identified as requiring an annual calibration. Develop and establish Statistical Process Controls (SPC) for product acceptance. Develop test methods, inspection techniques and acceptance criteria for current and new products and processes. Collects and records results of sampling and testing to maintain record of product quality. Designs and develops forms and instructions for recording evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Directs workers engaged in measuring, testing, and tabulating data concerning quality and reliability. Tests and conducts routine and nonroutine analysis of in-process, and finished product, using variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Initiate and track Corrective and Preventive Actions. Support the Material Review Board (MRB) and maintain the Material Review Board database. Maintain the calibration certificates and data records of all calibrated equipment. Review the calibration certificates and data of all calibrated equipment with the Production Manager or the Manager of the department to which the equipment is assigned. Work with all departments to identify the test equipment in use and determine requires annual calibration. Perform in-process, and outgoing inspections as required. Participate in product design reviews. Represent Quality in review meetings. Represent Quality in the First Article Inspection process. Support incoming inspection activities. Maintain a database of Final Inspection results of all OMNI Flow Computers manufactured for customer delivery. Provide Manufacturing information on the issues found during Final Inspection in an effort to reduce the number of issues. Provide weekly report of Final Inspection results. Working closely with Engineering, Production, and Inventory in establishing quality requirements for external suppliers.
Bachelor Degree (BA) in an engineering field is preferred. Minimum of two years experience in a technical field, with preferred emphasis in Electronics Manufacturing and Technical Services. Experienced customer interfacing and negotiation skills. Demonstrated organization and planning skills with careful attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities, and work effectively in a team environment.Demonstrated knowledge in calibration, ANSI standards, ISO 9001:2008, continuous improvement. Five years experience of Manufacturing Quality Management within a modern manufacturing, control systems or engineering services environment (preferably electronics technology or light engineering) required.Computer literate with advanced knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Contact Management and Database software.Experienced with the implementation & maintaining of computer based documentation systems and statistical data analysis software.
