Schaeffler is seeking a Buyer – Direct Material to support our North American Headquarters in Fort Mill, SC. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies that are in support of Regional, Global, and Product Line strategic purchasing initiatives. Will develop commodity strategies pursuant to identifying productivity and supplier rationalization opportunities for direct material.
Qualified candidates will have:
At least a four year degree
At least 3 years purchasing work experience
Experience with purchasing seals and fasteners preferred
Proven project management experience, negotiation and problem solving skills, excellent systems aptitude (SAP experience a plus)
Strong work ethic with ability to work well under pressure, high initiative, and ability to handle multiple tasks
Prior manufacturing experience is a plus
Must have strong Microsoft Office, Verbal & Written Communication skills
Must also have a professional attitude exercising confidentiality as needed, demonstrated ability to work with appropriate sense of urgency and drive for results
Must be well organized with the ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize appropriately
