Work Location: Charleston, SC This position will supervise a team of Documentation Specialist to ensure proper coordination, preparation and collection of patient and billing information for processing; responsible for work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned: • Remain abreast of Insurer criteria • Ensure staff initiate and develop relationships with case managers, physicians, and HHA to obtain appropriate documentation to support Insurer criteria • Communicate with all medical personnel to ensure their understanding of documentation requirements • Oversee clinical review of all medical documentation received to ensure compliance with medical guidelines • Monitor and evaluate team effectiveness and individual productivity measured against established performance standards. Apply corrective measures as appropriate to ensure standards are maintained and goals are achieved. • Prepare periodic reports on team effectiveness in meeting established production and quality standards. • Monitor and evaluate individual performance, provide individual performance feedback and accomplish individual annual reviews on assigned staff. • Partner with sales team in the development of strategies to ensure customer satisfaction • Maintain data integrity in all appropriate systems • Adhere to company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, anti-sexual harassment and drug-free workplace SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Directly supervise assigned staff. Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Five years related experience • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. • Knowledge of Insurer criteria for DME • Computer experience to include the following: MS Word and Excel • Proven ability in organization, problem solving (analysis), and project management skills
