The Wholesale Client On-Boarding (WCOB) team will be at the forefront for JP Morgan in our Value for Scale efforts. Client and Account Reference Data is a function of the WCOB global team with locations in major locations such as New York, Delaware, and Mumbai. The team works in close partnership with Client On-Boarding, Operations, Credit, Legal and Compliance to ensure accurate data is captured in the JP Morgan infrastructure.

The Operations & Tax Documentation Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining client reference data, and ensuring data quality standards are met in various systems.

Position Responsibilities

Process request for customer set up on various client systems

Monitor failure queues, mailboxes and databases to ensure all items are cleared in a timely manner (same day)

Modify customer information based on daily maintenance requests (address, tax identification number)

Proactively communicate with Wholesale Bank and other line of business requesters to ensure creations and data amendments meet minimum standards

Verify that corrections and modifications in data are fed to various systems

Query various processing systems to ensure duplicate client accounts are not created and/or maintained

Own creation and monitoring metrics, provide trending analyses, make recommendations to mitigate issues and implement

Develop and execute on Investment Bank driven improvements recommendations and improved process design

Analyze and maintain all customer matches within a set of client identifiers and combine customers when necessary

Actively participate in projects and meetings

Provide production diversification for the Mumbai Hub

Liaise with cross line of business partners to achieve business results improvements with emphasis on strategic end-state and controls

Research, provide trending, and report on exceptions in failure queues and recommendations on improvements

Create and maintain procedure documents and help drive control-centric environment

Assist with training documents and training staff on new and revised processes

Proactively promote knowledge of bigger picture of Investment Bank client life cycle across team

Serve as Investment Bank client process subject matter expert

Participate in UAT testing, pass/fail reporting, raising and tracking of defects and resolution


College degree or equivalent work experience

A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in Investment Bank Operations with Investment Bank products, systems, industries, and credit structure

Ability to learn and use multiple, complex databases and systems in a relatively short timeframe

Strong client focus and relationship-building skills across lines of business and levels

Demonstrated attention to detail

Able to communicate articulately, both written and verbally, to all levels of staff and management, and influence and support decisions

Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)

Experience with Client Central

Robust analytical skills and judgment

Ability to independently make 'client-centric' decisions

Ability to recognize and appropriately escalate issues and discrepancies

Knowledge of, experience with, and ability to apply process improvement and process control concepts

Ability to create and foster cross-LOB partnerships

Strong influence and negotiation skills to drive process control, changes, and provide supporting rationale

Strong analytical ability
