We currently have an opening for a Admissions Nurse (Clinical Nurse II). The Admission Nurse contributes to the seamless admission of patients on Heart Center units by assisting the nursing staff with the following tasks: Responsibilities: * Receive report from the patient's primary RN. * Complete a focused assessment based on the patient's chief complaint/admitting diagnosis. * Complete the patient profile. * Complete the Medication Reconciliation form and verify any medications given. * Assess for fall risk and place High Fall Risk Signs in room and armband on patient if indicated. * Check orders; inform patient and family of plan of care. * Check that Dietary needs have been met. Insure that O2 contains correct information in regard to Room Service. Call dietary for tray if indicated. * Contact physician for additional orders if gaps exist. * Assess for pain and treat as needed. * Insure that patient belongings are secured, orient patient and family to the room/equipment/call light. * Give Handoff report to assigned nurse to ensure safety and continuity of care and document on the checklist to give to the assigned nurse. Requirements: * Kansas Registered Nurse license or eligible. * 2 or more years of nursing experience. * Acute care experience preferred. * Must have an American Heart Association basic life support (BLS) or an American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. * Other certifications may be required depending on nursing unit.
