Description The Reservoir Engineer is responsible for assessing technology and providing peer support for division reservoir efforts to implement capital programs, performance monitoring, and opportunity evaluation associated with managing performance and growth of assets including New Ventures. The work includes reservoir simulation/modeling with emphasis on unconventional reservoirs. Also responsible for identifying and establishing engineering best practices for specific technology associated with reservoir evaluations such as core and log applications. The Engineer requires minimal supervision while functioning as a critical member in a multi-disciplinary team and possesses the initiative and work ethic to create value

Collaborates with division technical staff to provide leading edge technology expertise and engineering best practices, including:
Development of routine for modeling horizontal, unconventional plays to better understand reservoir mechanisms that maximize recovery
Providing recommendations for data needed from coring, logging and testing to improve modeling of reservoirs
Identification of best practices for core retrieval, sampling and analysis
Assesses technology needs and transfers to technical staff
Works closely with divisions to provide modeling support of field maintenance and management
Oversees analytical tools and training as applicable
Coordinates and oversees consortia memberships and database services as applicable

Qualifications

BS in Engineering
Minimum 5 years work experience in Reservoir Engineering
Minimum 3 years experience with Reservoir Simulation
