Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Power Plant Maintenance Engineer (Engineer III) in the Facilities Planning and Management department. This position will provide direct engineering support for all utility production facilities.
This position will act as a technical resource for power plant staff and will be responsible for engineering analysis of plant systems and equipment; and developing specifications and evaluating bids and proposals for maintenance and repair of plant systems & equipment. This position will also lead efforts to develop and implement preventive maintenance and reliability improvements in plant operations and maintenance.
The successful candidate will possess good technical skills in power plant design and operation, and will have good communication skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of people and organizations.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field and 3 years of utility plant operations and maintenance experience; or a Master's degree in engineering or related field and one year related experience.
B.S. in mechanical engineering
Experience working in coal-fired facilities
Commensurate with qualifications
