The University of South Florida is looking for a highly energetic, self starting, skilled professional to become part of our database administration team. Our DBA team is one that manages a wide variety of databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) supporting a disparate group of enterprise applications (including customers external to the University). We manage all phases of the RDBMS platforms in an educational setting including: DB monitoring, alerts, tuning, backups, performance enhancements, capacity planning, data security and integrity, and high availability planning.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, with six years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in directly related fields with four years of experience. Appropriate college coursework, technical training, or industry certifications may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Industry certification with directly related experience may be substituted for the degree requirements on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience):
Oracle and SQL Server DBA experience, Oracle and/or MS-SQL certifications.
Experience working with Ellucian Banner, Student Information Systems, ODS/OWB, DegreeWorks and other Higher Ed applications, such as Blackboard, RMS, Resource 25 and T2 Flex. Experience supporting PeopleSoft databases(HR and/or Finance), AppWorx, and/or Pinnacle, AXIS a plus.
Special Skills/Licenses/Training/Certifications Necessary:
Oracle, SQL Server and MySQl DBA internals/methods/procedures, SSIS, Streams, pl/sql, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, MCDBA, Views/indexing/tuning, Oracle 10/11 , SQL Server 2000-2008
