The Clinical Nurse Educator supports the professional development of the nursing staff through the application of the educational process. The Clinical Nurse Educator promotes the development and maintenance of staff competence by assessing learning needs, planning appropriate educational offerings, selecting effective teaching strategies, conducting programs and evaluating outcomes. Responsibilities encompass orientation, continuing education, in-service education and skill development. The Clinical Educator acts as a resource to the Medical Center and community. Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Degree Preferred
Experience: 5-8 years of related experience required
Valid NJ RN License
CPR certification through the American Heart Association
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
Possess strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, instructional media, evaluation methods and generally accepted training and development practices.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and work under tight time constraints.
Customer focused and results oriented.
Clinical experience in specialty area.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
Possess strong presentation skills utilizing AV equipment and technical software.
Proficient knowledge of PC applications in word processing.
Membership and participation in professional organizations.
Moderate physical effort (e.g. continuous typing, occasional lifting, prolonged standing/bending, etc.)
