The Department of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery and Loyola University Chicago (LUC) Stritch School of Medicine invite applications for a full-time Thoracic Surgeon to join its comprehensive, multidisciplinary lung transplant program.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience with lung transplantation and a commitment to academic medicine. A medical degree and board certification in cardiovascular surgery with expertise in lung tranplantation are required. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
Loyola performed the first lung transplant in the state of Illinois in 1988 and is the only program in Illinois to continuously maintain a lung transplant program since that time, having performed nearly 800 lung transplants. The successful candidate steps into a fully functional and well-appointed program with CMS approval. The selected candidate will enjoy a fully-appointed team highlighted by three dedicated transplant pulmonologists and three implanting surgeons with strong institutional support. Other CMS-approved transplantion programs exist including kidney, liver, bone marrow and heart.
