We are a not-for-profit located on Staten Island, we are seeking an HR Coordinator to accomplish the following task; Recruitment Participates in recruitment effort of assigned group (Family Services) Process New Hire Paperwork for assigned group - Family Services and Educational Services. Completes reference checks for assigned groups. Tracks flow of new hires and the return of appropriate paperwork. Keeps appropriate HR team member apprised of each step until completed. Prepare new hire letters, monthly addition and termination reports. Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) * Generate monthly termination and new hire report from paychex* Data enter new hire information into paychex.* Track employee license, auto insurance and registration.* Track finger printing clearance* Update all employee changes ie, names, addresses, into paychex Clerical Responsibilities * Verifies I-9 documentation and maintains active book - removes terminated employees and places in inactive book for 1 year after termination.* Prepare new employee files, files appropriate paperwork into employee files.* Participates in weekly staff meetings and attends other meeting and seminars as required.* Responsible for tracking and ordering departmental supplies.* Performs all employment verifications for assigned group etc, personnel, housing, legal, Social Security. Benefits * Prints out monthly report of new hires that are benefit eligible within assigned group and conducts benefit orientation.* Tracks appropriate enrollment forms and enrolls employees in selected benefit plan. Ie medical, dental, life, pension etc.* Enters employees selected plans into HRIS system. * Tracks declination notice if appropriate.* Process all COS of assigned group review and forward appropriate paper work to payroll, process FMLA, WC, and COBRA.* Track appropriate time-off for FMLA and send out appropriate notifications.* Terminate benefit plans as per employee request or termination.
In order to succeed in our position the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities are needed. General knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel administration; knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of personnel management. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff at all levels and outside clients. Ability to work in multi-locations Knowledge of MS-Office, including HRIS (Paychex) Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written communication form. Understanding of payroll functions Ability to diagnose, and resolve problems in a timely fashion. Confidentiality is Key
