The Grand Rapids Public Schools intend to maintain a high quality educational environment for its students. Therefore, to ensure that we have an available, qualified workforce we need to replenish our applicant pool with highly qualified individuals who are certified in the areas set forth below:
Elementary teachers endorsed in Bilingual Spanish or ESL, Montessori
Secondary teachers certified in Bilingual Spanish, ESL, Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Elementary & Secondary teachers certified in French, Spanish, Chinese, Reading, or Guidance Counselor, Physical Education, Health, Family and Consumer Sciences
Special Education
Adaptive PE (SP) (must hold full approval in Adaptive PE)
Autism (SV)
Cognitive Impairment (SA)
Early Childhood Special Education
Emotional Impairment (SE)
Hearing Impairment (SL)
Learning Disabilities (SM)
Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired (POHI)
Resource Room
Visual Impairment (SK)
Nurses
School Psychologist (must be eligible for School Psychologist Certificate)
Speech Pathologist (must be eligible for Michigan Teaching Certificate or Certification of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
Occupational Therapist & (Provide diagnostic, consultation and direct services Physical Therapist for special education students)
