Scope:

This position supports the Material Organization by providing leadership and scheduling experience to the Production Control and Operations groups. The individual is responsible for the coordination of all the day to day production planning and scheduling activities. Primary focus will be on establishing and maintaining consistency and discipline in the capacity planning and production scheduling processes. The successful candidate will implement and manage new or modified processes as appropriate. This individual will work closely with the Operations team to ensure factory contraints are identified and level loaded.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage demand allocation and work order scheduling to meet customer demand requirements.
  • Establish WIP and throughput objectives and work effectively with Manufacturing and support groups to manage exceptions.
  • Provide leadership for the coordination of inventory and demand scheduling related to BOM/Product revisions.
  • Lead groups in corrective actions related to schedule performance and capacity gates.
  • Analyze and maintain system-planning data including capacity limits and lead-times.
  • Lead the development of and be responsible for the timely publication of reports for use in manufacturing operations management.
  • Analyze product mix changes and subsequent effect on capacity constraints.
  • Drive MRP and Shop Floor Control System improvements related to production scheduling and capacity management.
  • Analyze capacity models and support maintenance of product mix variables.
  • Assist manufacturing in the evaluation of increased production efficiency, gates management, and cycle time reduction.
  • Develop management information systems and reports to support capacity management.
  • Analyze and maintain system-planning data including capacity limits and lead-times.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Positive “CAN-DO” attitude and demonstrated leadership skills with high degree of ownership
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent computer and information systems skills including MRP. Capacity simulation software experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong management abilities
  • High sense of urgency with serious customer focus
  • Work performed in an office area with frequent work required in a manufacturing environment
Education and Experience:
  • BS in Industrial Engineering a plus
  • Minimum 7 years Planning and Production Environment
  • 2 years Supervisory experience/5 years production planning and control experience
  • APICS, CPIM or CSPS certification is desired
