Job Description:

reality. Highland Industries has an immediate need for
an Administrative Assistant-HR to work in our Cheraw,
South Carolina Manufacturing Facility.
The successful candidate will report to the site Human
Resources Manager. The position was created to lend
assistance in the day to day operations within the
companies Human Resources Department. The Administrative
Assistant will be expected to follow all plant safety
rules and lead by example; The position is primarily an
administrative position and has no direct reports.

  • Must make your personal safety and the safety of
others your first priority; attend all required safety
meetings and participate in site specific safety events.
  • Administrative duties in the HR area; data entry,
filing, typing, printing and posting needed documents
  • Site coordinator for all incoming calls- emergency and
non-emergency, that come into the switchboard
  • Site events coordinator- setup meeting room for
customer visits, as well as employee activities as
  • Assist the department in scheduling plant interviews,
new hire orientations, physicals etc. for new associates
  • Maintain all company bulletin boards and plant
  • Creation of all security badges for new hires.
  • Direct employees to the correct person for problem
  • Maintain the service awards program. Notify Managers
and Supervisors of milestones and coordinate recognition
  • Assist the Plant Management in setting up travel,
expense report submissions and Passports
  • Make necessary trips to purchase supplies and items
for the facility, as requested by your Manager
  • Any other duties as requested by your Supv./Manager
Job Requirement Summary:
  • Associates Degree in a related business field
preferred but will consider someone with experience
working in an Administrative role for a large
Manufacturing company; High School Diploma or General
Education Degree (GED) with two to four years related
experience and /or training required; or equivalent
combination of education and experience
  • Prior experience with HRIS; accurate data entry skills
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft
Office software.
  • Take initiative to identify and anticipate the needs
of the department and make appropriate recommendations
to address the challenge
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Must have good attendance, be punctual for meetings
and setting up for events
  • Ability to work flexible hours and assist with
employee events (as needed)
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Excellent technical skills; includes proficiency with
Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of
the organization
  • Must possess and demonstrate effective computer skills
(Kronos / Infinium) system experience is a plus
  • Must maintain confidentiality, on and off the job,
while working in this department
  • Ability to react with the appropriate level of urgency
to situations and events that require quick response or
rapid turnaround
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage
competing priorities; attentive to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Self-starter with competency to adapt to change
quickly and efficiently
  • Must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude no
matter the time of day
