The Maintenance Planner will perform planning and support functions necessary to maintain major surface mining equipment with a primary emphasis on the dragline. The successful candidate will work in a team atmosphere and be responsible for the scheduling, monitoring and coordination of heavy equipment using a computerized maintenance management system. Will also be required to prepare statistical and costing reports and provide support for Maintenance supervisors. Additional responsibilities will include; verifying, ordering and expediting of associated materials and supplies in conjunction with scheduled outages, coordinating vendors, assisting with preparation of capital justifications and expense budgets, as well as preparing “Request for Proposal” documentation for projects. Effectively communicate with contemporaries, professionals in other departments, consultants/contractors, and management.

Required Skills

BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline with two to four years of practical experience in maintenance planning / equipment management or six to ten years of equivalent related experience and training required. Proven skills in the utilization of computerized maintenance management systems and the MS Office program suite. Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills, working knowledge of accounting principles and financial analyses and have strong analytical and evaluative problem solving skills. Previous maintenance planning experience using PeopleSoft is preferred.
