EMBARQ is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, technical and design savvy intern to support the EMBARQ’s Communications and Marketing and Information and Innovation teams. Duties include utilizing Salesforce to help manage EMBARQ’s online knowledge base and CRM, working with the Communications team to maintain EMBARQ’s two websites (TheCityFix.com and EMBARQ.org), liaising with other departments and offices within the EMBARQ Network to ensure that web-related projects are completed, and helping maintain the visual identity of EMBARQ and its online communciations products.


-Track and fix issues and respond to inquiries related to EMBARQ’s Salesforce-based online knowledge base.
-Serve as a point-of-contact for technical issues related to the website and other online communications tools.
-Work with other departments within EMBARQ as well as external developers to develop the knowledge base in a way that fits EMBARQ’s needs.
-Improve user interface and visual design of themes and templates for websites and mass emails
-Create and manage mass e-mails through Vertical Response
-Provide administration support for various content management systems such as Wordpress and Drupal
-Edit and update content on TheCityFix.com and EMBARQ.org using Wordpress and Drupal
-Work closely with co-workers in the DC office as well as offices abroad to complete miscellaneous projects-these vary depending on needs, but can run from creating an online registration system for an upcoming conference to creating a web page for a recently published research report
-Help manage web based tools like Google Apps


-Undergraduate degree
-Customer service/client support experience a plus
-Experience with CRM systems and databases Salesforce and Raisers Edge
-Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
-Experience with content management systems Wordpress and Drupal
-Experience with email systems like Vertical Response, Campaign Monitor, and Constant Contact
-Solid visual design and user experience skills and sensibilities
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Strong general computer skills and web-based communications like Skype, Google Apps, etc
-Able to successfully manage multiple deadlines and competing demands
