Power-One designs and manufactures energy-efficient power conversion and power management solutions, including inverters for alternative/renewable energy (solar and wind) and products for routers, data storage and servers, wireless communications, optical networking, semiconductor test equipment, industrial markets and custom applications. The Renewable Energy Solutions SBU at Power-One designs, manufactures and sells inverters and related infrastructure products for the solar and wind markets. Power-One’s newest facility supporting the Renewable Energy Solutions group is located in Phoenix, Arizona and it produces industry-leading photovoltaic and wind inverters, including single phase (2-6KW) and three phase string inverters, and NEMA 3R 250KW, 300KW and 400KW central inverters. In the future, for wind applications, the product range will include 2.5 MW inverters.
Responsibilities:
The position reports to the VP of Engineering and is responsible for both directly contributing and leading a highly capable team. The team focuses upon all server-side software development in a multi-tier, database driven, J2EE and web application environment. The solutions developed operate in a high-transaction environment and are used to receive, manage and deliver energy and performance data from thousands of remote renewable energy systems.
Qualifications:
7+ years J2EE, JSP, Web Services, Java Servlets and SQL in UNIX/Linux environments
Problem solver with proven debugging and diagnostic skills
Able to quickly learn and enhance an existing code base
Proven ability to address situations with a positive approach
Experience with source code control systems (SVN preferred)
Special consideration will be given if there is experience with
Highly-scaled systems processing at least millions of daily transactions
JUnit, Python, Linux shell scripting
MySQL
Internationalization and localization of web products
Education:
BSCS or equivalent
J2EE, SQL, XML/JSON, Web Services SOAP/REST, UNIX/Linux
