Kendall Auto Group has an opening in Anchorage for a Community Relations Specialist. The position is considered full time, generally between 30-40 hrs per week. Although base hours are during the day Monday-Friday, the position will frequently require working early mornings, evenings and weekends based on community event schedules. Non-profits background and event planning experience is a plus.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Managing community sponsorship and image activities.
DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Attend Community meetings of business-to-business organizations.
Solicit, receive and prioritize charitable and sponsorship requests; evaluate and discuss with appropriate management staff; negotiate terms; verify that contracted benefits are received; manage billing and payments.
Implement and coordinate Community outreach events.
Manage and actively participate in Kendall Cares charity activities.
Ensure Kendall and manufacturer brand standards are upheld in assigned activities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community organizations.
Network on behalf of Kendall Auto Group and Kendall Cares outreach at community events
Oversee community boards, Kendall Cares updates, and outreach copy
Consult with General Managers and Marketing Team for creative campaigns
Develop and implement community outreach
Develop and oversee in-store marketing/grassroots campaigns
Act as Kendall representative at community events and with community outreach activities
Act as Kendall spokesperson for press related activities including radio and TV
Track projects, outreach and invoices systematically for easy reference by management team
Commitment to maintaining Kendall outreach standards
Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Familiarity with advertising industry terms and procedures.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with strategic planning and budgeting
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and budgets simultaneously
Excellent customer service skills
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Works both indoors and outdoors.
Frequent same-day travel within metro area; travel several times per year to other Alaska destinations, including overnight travel.
Vehicle operation required for self-transport within metro area.
Lifting/Carrying: occasionally, up to 20 pounds for up to 200 feet; rarely, up to 40 pounds.
