Monsanto is seeking an exceptionally talented scientist to become an integral member of our multidisciplinary Chemistry Organization as an Agrochemical Delivery Scientist. This role will have responsibility for the development of advanced delivery technologies for agro-chemical and biological products. Your primary focus will be development and evaluation of novel delivery platforms for innovative products through application of formulation & delivery sciences.
Responsibilities:
Design, prepare, and test new and improved delivery technologies
Champion and design selected technologies for product development
Identify and evaluate third party delivery technologies for product development
Integrate activities within Monsanto R & D teams (formulation chemists, analytical chemists, biologists, agronomists, statisticians)
Interface with Research as well as Business, Manufacturing, Marketing, Regulatory and Quality functions regarding project updates and product advancement
Act as a liaison with internal and external customers and provide technical reports and presentations to diverse audiences
Limited travel to support testing and commercialization of products and formulations may be required
Required Skills/Experience:
PhD in Materials Science, Colloid, Nanoscience or Delivery Science, Physical Chemistry
5+ years of research experience (may include post-graduate work) in the field of nanotechnology and/or encapsulation based formulations with a focus on targeted delivery of nano-particles or bioactive materials to biologically relevant systems
Consistent demonstration of the application of multiple technologies to the delivery of nano-particles or bioactive materials to biologically relevant systems
Experience with different nano-particle production technologies, scale-up of high payload nano-particles, delivery methods and high energy homogenization technologies
Excellent analytical and creative thinking, with strong problem solving skills and an ability to identify and champion new technologies especially for effective delivery of agrochemical actives
An ability to work on cross-functional and international teams and adapt well to change in a complex corporate and market environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
