Apartment Monitor is a part time direct service position in
the Transitional Living Program in La Crosse —a program of
ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc. Because this is a security
position, the hours must be randomly assigned to monitors.
There is no set number of hours per week with this position.
The Apartment Monitor is responsible for tenant and physical
residence monitoring in which the Department of Correction's
clients are housed. The individual in this position is required
to maintain confidentiality of all client and agency related
information. Duties include monitoring clients' attitudes,
appearances and behaviors to ensure that clients observe program
rules and responsibilities. Monitor physical residence to
ensure health, safety and security of clients and property.
Perform client breathalyzer testing on an “as needed” and
random basis. Enforce program rules and responsibilities,
including documentation and reporting of violations to Department
of Correction's personnel and agency personnel. Maintain a
sign in/sign out of clients' whereabouts and reporting of
any serious health, safety and security issues to appropriate
DOC or agency personnel.
High school diploma, or equivalent; police science or residential
2 years experience working with correctional clients
Ability to perform job duties with limited supervision.
Excellent written and observation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with clients
Ability to make timely and appropriate decisions in non-routine
Per Week: approx. 10-20 hours/week
