Required Certification IAT II/Security +Summary: The candidate will provide Systems Administration support in a research/lab environment. The operating environment utilizes workstations & servers running Red Hat Enterprise, SUSE Linux, Ubuntu and OS X operating systems in both clustered and virtual environments. Key Responsibilities: ' Perform software installation and maintenance. Properly configure resources to accommodate research experiments.' Troubleshoot and fix hardware/software problems and interface with networking teams to maintain connectivity. ' Build and configure workstations, servers and keep systems up to date. ' Address vulnerabilities found during security audits and properly document risk mitigations.' Communicate with customers to plan deployments and perform troubleshooting ' Provide occasional off-hour support on rare occasions.
Ability to secure and maintain Active DoD Security Top Secret Clearance ' A total of 11 years relevant IT experience: 7 years experience in Information Systems and/or security experience with at least 4 of those years in network software and hardware and a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent in work experience. ' DoD 8570 compliant by maintaining required certifications such as Security+ and CEH' Experience with recent versions of Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (or Centos/ScientificLinux) and Fedora.' Configuring Grid Engine Job Scheduler (or other similar ones like Maui/Torque, LSF, Condor, etc.) Virtualization using KVM and QEMU or similar.' Experience booting diskless provisioned nodes using PXE, TFTP, and NFSROOT.' Configuring DNSMASQ for PXE booting. Creating Linux chroot images for network booting.' Modifying the Linux kernel and initramfs. Configuring bridges, VLANs, and STP on Linux. Configuring IPTABLE. Configuring Cisco switches for trunking.' Expertise with Linux and familiarity with Mac and Windows operating systems. ' Excellent problem solving skills. ' Experience with system monitoring and troubleshooting.' Familiarity with open source tools such as Warewulf, Rocks, xCAT, Grid Engine, Maui/Torque, LSF, condor, etc.Basic Qualifications: ' Familiarity with DOD and Army policies and procedures. ' Experience documenting technical standards and procedures. ' Working knowledge of networking technology including, switches, firewalls, and routers. ' Experience with clustered systems.' Experience with the CSA or DIACAP processes.
