The Interventional Radiology division at Thomas Jefferson University has a full-time faculty position available at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level. The division is in a period of unprecedented growth. The procedure volume consists of the full array of Interventional Oncology procedures, Uterine Fibroid Embolization, TIPS/Transjugular Liver Biopsy, management of Venous Insufficiency, IVC Filter placement and retrieval, Biliary/GU/Abscess catheter placement/management, and Vascular Disease, including review of CTA studies. The division places a variety of venous access devices and manages a separate PICC team which screens and places over 90% of non-tunneled access.
IR has both a self-contained clinic and participates in several multispecialty clinics. As our research effort continues to expand, there are multiple ongoing clinical trials with both federal and corporate funding. Clinical resources include 4 dedicated angiography suites, 2 of which are less than 1 year old with c-arm CT capability, a dedicated interventional CT scanner, and 4 fully-functional Ultrasound units. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising residents and fellows: we participate in the DIRECT pathway and also have traditional post-graduate fellows. There are 3 dedicated PAs who assist with clinic, inpatient management and procedures.
