Description
Through the use of customer supplied drawings, data, and instructions designs tooling and creates CNC programs to aid in the manufacture of products.
Specialist level performs the following technical job functions under general supervision and is able to provide technical solutions to difficult problems.
§ Reviews all drawings, data, and procurement specs.
§ Creates a manufacturing outline with the help of the Quality Engineer.
§ Creates a method for manufacturing the product.
§ Creates all necessary geometry required for manufacturing the product with CAD/CAM.
§ Creates the CNC programs and CNC set-up sheets required to manufacture the product.
§ Obtains any additional information form customer necessary to produce the product.
§ Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
§ Complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines.
§ Plan and organize work priorities with direction from Engineering Department Manager to meet deadlines. Ensure any material or tools required to manufacture tooling is ordered in a timely fashion. Ensure any and all programs required to manufacture tooling are completed on schedule.
§ Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
§ B.S. degree (or equivalent experience) in related discipline and 5-8 years of experience, M.B.A. degree (or equivalent experience) and 3-6 years of experience, PHD degree (or equivalent experience) in related discipline and 0-3 years of experience, or JD degree (or equivalent experience) in related discipline and 0-3 years of experience is required.
This position may require you to submit to and pass a drug test and/or background check.
If this is a hands-on position, you may also be required to pass a safety and productivity examination.
