Selected candidate will carry out recurring office procedures independently. Composes correspondence using proper formatting, proofing and distribution. Some understanding of technical matters is required. Coordinates travel arrangements for personnel. Experience with tracking paper and electronic files and databases is essential. Coordinates and tracks Program Manager’s and office’s calendars. Must be able to liaison with multiple IPT's. Uses greater judgment and initiative in handling a wider variety of situations and conflicts involving the clerical or administrative functions of the office. Performs varied duties such as: responds to routine telephone requests; refers calls and visitors to appropriate staff; controls mail and assures timely staff response; sends form letters; arranges for meeting rooms; maintains recurring internal reports, correspondence controls, and training plans; requisitions supplies.
An associate's degree from an institution accredited through a U.S. Department of Education approved agency is required. Two (2) years of related experience in addition to the requirements below may be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience related to administrative policies and procedures is required. Experience must include Defense Travel System, US Navy message system and Naval Correspondence. Knowledge of
proper style, syntax and proofreading correspondence is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software is also required.
Knowledge of other NAVAIR databases and data tracking systems is desired.
Occasional travel to government/ contractor sites may be required.
An active SECRET clearance must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
