Administer the credit union's IRA and HSA products, Medallion Signature Guarantee Program, Signature Validation Program, Notary Program. Provide in depth knowledge of IRAs and HSAs along with trust, business, guardian/conservator, and representative payee accounts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expertise and answer all questions related to IRA and HSA accounts for the credit union.
Perform notification, calculation and associated record keeping requirements for periodic distributions and excess contributions.
Maintain credit union's operational procedures concerning IRA and HSA accounts.
Assist with product development for IRA and HSA accounts.
Ensure regulatory compliance on all issues related to IRA and HAS accounts.
Provide support and answer related questions to IRA Direct.
Perform duties of the administrator for IRA and HAS third party vendors.
Coordinate IRA Death Benefit Claim processing with Account Support Coordinator.
Provide support and answer questions related to special account types such as trust, business, guardian/conservatorship and representative payee accounts.
Administer the Notary Program; provide support and answer related questions
Coordinate training, provide support, and answer questions related to the notary program.
Administer the Signature Validation Program; provide support and answer related questions.
Administer the Medallion Signature Guarantee Program; provide support and answer related questions.
Provide expertise and answer questions related to Power of Attorneys.
Provide support and answer questions related to redemption of savings bonds.
Review and process file error reports daily.
Prepare branch error spreadsheets as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned. Qualification Requirements:
Education - High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience Required - Not applicable.
Skills - Previous experience with IRA procedures preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills a must. Able to work independently, handle a variety of tasks, and self-proof work. Proficient computer and technical skills with strict attention to details and timeframes. Must be able to directly communicate with members in a professional and friendly manner. Recommendation by a supervisor or two years of similar experience in a problem solving capacity which routinely required independent decision making.
Tenure - IRA Specialist II, category 14, requires six months tenure in the IRA Specialist I, category 15, position and performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Senior IRA Specialist, category 13, requires twelve months tenure in the IRA Specialist II, category 14, position and performance that meets or exceeds expectations. Directly related work experience and /or accelerated training completion may be substituted for tenure.
