Zachry Construction Corporation is seeking an Oiler for a project in South Carolina. The Oiler will be responsible for checking fluid levels (fuel, grease and oil) and performing preventive maintenance (lubrication, oil changes, oil/air filters and oil samples) on all heavy equipment at the equipment yard according to schedules or as needed. The oiler also safely operates a lube/grease truck to dispense lubricants to construction equipment and will be required to assist the mechanic during repairs.

Required Skills Qualified candidates must have a class B driver’s license with an ‘X’ endorsement. Must provide proper tooling necessary to complete daily job tasks. Previous experience in the following: servicing knowledge of various types of heavy construction equipment; checking and maintaining proper fluid levels for various compartments including engine, hydraulics, transmission etc.; proper handling of successfully collecting fluid samples for analysis and accurate record keeping of all daily tasks via computer and paper transactions. Computer knowledge to utilize other software applications such as Polaris, Qualcomm to look up information. Ability to complete all daily paperwork required for DOT, monitor and maintain inventories of fuel, oil, filters etc. Must be able to assist mechanics during repairs and perform visual inspections on machines and report conditions/deficiencies. Must be able to properly document work in companies Equipment Asset Management (EAM) system. Trouble shooting capabilities, basic environmental awareness and ability to comply with all safety & environmental requirements. Able to effectively communicate with equipment mechanic and superintendent in order to maintain proper equipment function, such as scheduling maintenance, follow up on severe oil sample results, and equipment fluid leaks. Nights and weekend work required.

Required Experience At least 5 years of oiler /lube technician experience, preferably with knowledge of heavy equipment.
