nuous Documentation Improvement (CDI) specialist is an RN responsible
for managing the improvement of the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation through interaction with Physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers and HIM coding staff. Works to ensure the appropriate reimbursement is assigned for the level of service rendered to patients with a DRG-based payer. Facilitates the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for appropriate coding, and core measure, severity of illness measures as appropriate.
Graduate from an Accredited Registered Nurse program is required. A BSN is preferred. Case Management experience preferred. Knowledge of ICD-9CM strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years experience as an RN, Med/Surg experience required.
Must have current WA license to practice as Registered Nurse and current BLS certification.
