About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation "Warfighting Center". Fort Rucker is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Serve as Distance Learning Program (DLP) lead designated to train safety professionals and leaders over multiple distance learning platforms. Designs, updates, evaluates, and administers the DLP. Applies knowledge of education principles, and Distance Learning concepts, visual information equipment, graphic design, electronic teaching techniques to determine the subject matter, goals, length, approach and education media which can be most effective. Basic Requirements: Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: (1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. (2)Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. (3) Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. (4) Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. (5) Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. IN ADDITION Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal Service that provided the full range of knowledge and understanding of various areas of instructional systems. To be highly qualified applicants must possess the following knowledge, skill and ability: (1) Knowledge of Education principles, TV equipment and Distance Learning concepts, visual information equipment, graphic design, electronic teaching techniques to determine the subject matter. (2) Skill in Performing research to develop information for use in designing instructional material. (3) Ability to prepare and conduct instruction, develop lesson plans for course of instruction indicating instructional methods, comprehensive examinations and other course-related administration. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is 25 percent.
