Farm Marketer Trainee
This position is part of Cargill's AgHorizons business unit, which serves farm customers in the United States by providing products and services including grain origination and storage, grain marketing resources and advice, crop input products such as seed and fertilizer, agronomic advice and information services.
As a Farm Marketer Trainee, you will participate in a sales training program to prepare you to become an agricultural sales and grain marketing specialist, responsible for developing long-term relationships with identified customers, and working face to face with grain producers on the farm. You will learn how to help farmers prosper and maximize their return by utilizing Cargill's full range of products, grain marketing and/or crop input services, and resources. Through the use of business planning tools and our expertise, you will help to solve customer problems and create new opportunities.
Fully understand and actively participate in the planning and execution of the Farm Service Group strategy, business plans, and sales and marketing efforts.
In partnership with Farm Marketers, the Sales Manager and other customer solution specialists, you will maintain contact with customers to: originate grain, introduce and sell Cargill products and risk management tools, assist producers in forming marketing plans, define customer needs, etc.
Learn about producer trends, marketing plans, crop conditions, customer wants/needs/concerns and effectively communicate to the appropriate people within the Farm Service Group and product lines.

Various U.S. locations throughout the Midwest.
Movement from a trainee role to an experienced sales position may require additional relocation.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program with a major in Agribusiness, Ag Econ, Ag Management, or similar agricultural discipline graduating by Summer 2013.
Ability to relocate to various locations throughout the Midwest.
Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
Previous intern or co-op experience.
Overall 3.0 GPA preferred.
