Job Goals: Individual is responsible for the management of Quality activities for the Merrimack, NH site. This position is responsible for supporting customers in their applications requirements, problem solving, etc. and will handle all daily activities related to Quality functions- Interfacing with Sales, Marketing, and Production. Responsibilities: • Review, support, and improve quality systems, procedures, and practices. Create quality systems for new products and for existing products where none exist • Responsible for total site quality and for developing and driving a culture of “quality is job #1”. Must posses the skills required to "spread the word" that quality is critical. • Provide audit functions to stop processes that are not following existing quality policies, and to immediately correct, and train personnel. • Oversee and improve Corrective and Preventive Action system. Act in a leadership role in driving timely root cause corrective action. • Actively participate in new product reviews, as a ‘gatekeeper’ for quality. Seek timely closure and verification of effectiveness of actions. Provide quality data to support cost reduction program. • Monitor effectiveness through timely reporting of appropriate metrics (i.e. Internal and External Failures, Scrap, etc.). Manage the DMR system to minimize the number of discrepant events, as well as reduce scrap • Manage the process/procedures to maintain/support the ISO 9001 certification at the Merrimack site. • Active member of the Management team of Merrimack. Attend Staff meetings to coordinate with other departments, i.e. Manufacturing, Materials, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Support, HSE, Human Resources, and Facilities.--------------------------------------------Education, Skills and Requirements: • 5 + years experience in Project/Product Quality management, experience in Plastics preferred • BS degree in Engineering or other technical function required; advanced degree preferred in Engineering or Business. • Prior experience in a Manager/Supervisory role required. • Must be a "systems" thinker, capable of building a robust quality system, and auditing to that system. • Expert knowledge of ISO-9001, QS-9000 standards and quality management principals and practices. • Background in meeting the customers’ requirements/expectations in fast paced highly technical applications. • Capability to manage complex projects with different processes and different locations. • Experience in Quality Auditing to QS-9000 and/or ISO-9000 standards- internal and/or external. • ASQ-CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) and ASQ-CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) or ISO/QS Lead • Assessor credentials preferred .
