Our dedication to total eye care includes a complete range of services extending from providing eyeglass prescriptions to screening for glaucoma, cataract and retinal surgery, performing facial reconstructive and refractive surgery.Southwestern Eye Center is currently seeking a full time Biomedical Technician to be based in our office in Tucson.
The ideal candidate will be responsible forproviding maintenance and support for ophthalmic equipment and assist physicians and staff in using the equipment. oversee routine ad specialized maintenance and repair on clinical and srugical ophthlamic equipment and ensure work is completeddevelops preventive maintenance schedule and ensures the servicing og equipment ar regular intervals and in accordance with the preventative maintenance schedulereplaces defective parts and coordinates contractor's workensures the resolution of any unsafe conditions or required maintenance and provides recommendations related to equipment repairdelivers and installs clinical and surgical ophthalmic equipment as requiredensures the training of physicians and support staff on equipment and laser safety Travel is necessary for this position to aid in equipment repair and installation as needed. Company vehicle is provided. Qualified candidates should have the following skills: high school diploma or GED preferredassociates, trade or vocational diploma in electricity, electronics or other related field a plus1 – 2 years experience with biomedical work or electronic/electrical repair in an ophthalmic settingMust be PC literate with good working knowledge of Excel and WordMust be able to communicate both oral and written in a clear concise mannerThe ability to handle multiple tasksMust be able to work under deadlinesGood organizational skills
