iZEN Global is looking for a candidate to serve as Sr. Oracle Database Administrator in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the planning, maintenance and development of corporate data stores and warehouses, and establishing, tuning, and maintaining data structures and tables across various applications. The DBA will ensure that data remains consistent across the database, is clearly defined, users can access data concurrently, in a form that suits their needs, and there is provision for data security and recovery control (all data is retrievable in an emergency). The DBA will manage large distributed structures in development, testing, and production environments. Their activities will include but not be limited to controlling access permissions and privileges, meeting users' access requirements and resolving their problems, software upgrades and migrations, testing new systems, ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly, capacity planning, commissioning and installing new applications. Our DBA will be challenged to provide planning of dataflows for new or revised databases, mapping out the 'conceptual design' for a planned database, refining the 'logical design' so that it can be translated into a specific data model, further refining the 'physical design' to meet system storage requirements, and maintaining data standards, including adherence to the corporate data protection standards.
Minimum skills and experience required;
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or like discipline.
8+ years of Oracle database administration experience in a production environment
Demonstrated experience with Oracle releases 10gR2 and 11gR2, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Automatic Storage Management (ASM) and Recovery Manager (RMAN)
In-depth knowledge of shell scripting
Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and upgrading Oracle server software; performing database tuning and performance monitoring; installing, configuring and maintaining Oracle Enterprise Manager
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
US Citizenship required
