The Information Technology Program Management (TPM) team at salesforce.com is a mission critical leader in delivering strategic, complex, cross-functional initiatives that are essential to our evolution, growth and market-leader position. This team manages programs and projects for internal business partners and Information Technology (IT). The team is comprised of strong leaders who thrive in a fast-paced, bottoms-up environment. This role will provide exceptional customer service to business partners in the Finance business area by delivering technical solutions, business process change and on-going stabilization support to realize business value and objectives.
Initially, this role will focus on an upgrade of Oracle Financials to R12.1. As a program manager, you must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to drive decisions and projects to completion, escalate status, issues, and risks appropriately, and enjoy working in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment. You will manage the program scope, objectives, requirements, schedule, key milestones, budget, issues, risks and dependencies. You will also facilitate and schedule regular team meetings and own weekly project status reports.
This role may involve managing multiple related projects concurrently with moderate to high levels of business or technical complexity or risk. You will be accountable to ensure project commitments and deliverables are met. You will interact daily with the Technology Program Management, IT development, QA, business systems analysts, operational support, cross-functional business leads and process owners to ensure the smooth delivery of the deliverables. You will be required to regularly prepare and present to executive sponsors for project status and to drive decisions.
Responsibilities: Direct program core teams to successfully deliver business objectives for large complex, cross-functional programs. Translate business objectives into execution strategy (tactical and strategic), lead and successfully execute the strategy through strong collaboration and agile leadership. Assume project management functions for assigned initiatives including risk management, issue management, status reporting, team meetings and executive steering and stakeholder meetings and communications. Partner closely with IT Product Management and Business leaders to achieve business objectives, priorities, product vision, and success metrics.
Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation and learning; promote continuous improvement. Act as Scrum Master for one or more scrum teams, facilitating Agile processes and coaching the team. Anticipate and aggressively remove obstacles that slow down or prevent program scrum teams from delivering on program objectives. Identify, manage and break dependencies between scrum teams.
Work closely with TPM in planning, managing and deploying releases to the production environment. Experience/Skills Required: Bachelors Degree, with 5+ years program/project management and information systems software development lifecycle experience. Expert project management skills, especially communication skills, project planning, risk management, team management and organizational change management. Must have solid experience all aspects of a major Oracle Financials R12 implementation.
Must have hands-on experience in developing, leading and managing highly complex and data-sensitive QA and UAT testing cycles. Knowledge of Oracle Financials applications including integrations to CRM and other back-office applications, with focus on the following business processes: Record-to-Report (General Accounting), Order-to-Cash, Source-to-Settle, and Tax/Treasury. Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a concise and objective manner. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with large, complex projects.
Excellent team player able to work with virtual and global cross-functional teams. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic, changing environment. Experience/Skills Desired: Has experience with Agile methodologies and principles.
Preferably Agile/Scrum. Has professional project management credentials (such as PMP) or equivalent. Has experience or is familiar with Oracle BPEL/SOA integration architecture. Background in business process analysis, requirements, design, quality and testing.
Experience with on-demand SaaS applications, web services APIs and various integration technologies is a plus. Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
