TO BE USED IN GLOBAL COMPLIANCE ONLY - Implements and monitors compliance programs for one or more departments or functions and related vendors within GBAM. Supports accountability for Compliance elements of the Risk Framework, maintaining independent compliance oversight of business and vendor performance. Maintains the culture of Compliance and supports the identification, escalation and timely mitigation of compliance risks. Applies knowledge and expertise to influence business managers and peers to ensure enforcement of compliance programs, balancing business strategy with appropriate risk management controls. Communicates and interacts with regulatory agencies, external consultants, and other internal risk management groups within area of responsibility. May manage other employees.
The Global Markets Compliance Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on Compliance policies, procedures and standards for the Global Credit Products and Global Loans and Special Situations LOBs. Must be capable of assessing time sensitive issues that arise in the Trading Desk environment and making decisions that are consistent with both established firm policy and industry best practices. Must be able to conduct thoughtful analysis and interpretation of the issues that arise in a dynamic regulatory environment and provide related guidance to the related LOBs. Plays a critical role in the review of risks inherent in a customer flows business comprised of corporate bonds, loans, non-convertible preferred securities and credit derivatives. Must establish and maintain a strong partnership with LOB management. Must direct and maintain effective compliance culture and communication across the LOBs which promote a) heightened awareness of policies and best practices, and b) understanding and interpreting new and existing compliance issues related policies and procedures as well as new and/or modified regulations.
High degree of confidence and ability to interact with high level-managers and other control funtions to implement change and gain consensus.
