The ideal candidate will perform duties of a NOC Analyst working in a 24/7/365 day operations center. The NOC Analyst will monitor the network and system devices utilizing network management tools and perform corrective actions to bring failed devices back to service. The NOC Analyst will interface with other support organizations and report on failures in a timely manner and within SLA timelines. Strong networking management, configuration, and analysis skills are required, with primary focus on Cisco switches and routers.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
The candidate will design, develop, program, install, implement, conduct research for, and maintain internal data processing computer systems and utilities, and/or for customers on a contract basis. He/she will analyze internal or external customers' needs, and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems; develop customized solutions to customer/user problems. The candidate will establish system parameters and formats; ensure hardware/software compatibility; and coordinate and/or modifies user requirements in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. He/she may make programming changes as required to adapt or enhance existing or new programs and/or utilities and maintains supplied software packages for internal users. The candidate will analyze new hardware to determine its need or application in the existing or proposed system; advise on new techniques and estimated costs associated with new or revised programs and utilities, taking into consideration personnel, time, and hardware requirements, and makes trade-off analyses; develops general and detailed documentation describing system specifications and operating instructions; and revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
Must possess a Public Trust clearance
Must have working knowledge of Network monitoring processes and procedures in an Enterprise Cisco/Microsoft based Infrastructure.
Must have experience utilizing Network Management tools such as Zenoss and Orion Solarwinds
Must be able to work flexible hours in a 24/7/365 day Network Operations Center.
Must have a sense of urgency and be able to work well under pressure during system restoration activities
Must have experience with Cisco Switches, Routers, and a strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and strong troubleshooting skills in the management of network devices
Must be CCNA certified
Expert troubleshooting skills in an Enterprise Network Environment. CCNP level work experience in an Enterprise Cisco based network environment. (Desired)
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Master’s degree. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
