The Patient Experience Specialist will be responsible for maximizing the overall patient experience at DMA. The primary responsibility will be assisting new patients to choose a PCP by communicating relevant information about the practice to new patients both via phone and e-mail. The incumbent will also mail the new patient packet to all new patients, and make recommendations about continually improving and updating the packet. Will also work with patients who are current users of MyHealth (patient portal) and have questions about the portal, as well as enrolling patients (i.e., processing forms, obtaining missing data, etc.) for MyHealth. Previous experience with MyHealth is not needed.
The Patient Experience Specialist will be involved in providing greeter and navigation assistance to patients when DMA moves into our new 80,000 square foot building in Norwood in the Spring 2013. Will also be a resource to the clinical departments, and will participate in a variety of other patient experience initiatives throughout the year. Some examples include: following up with new moms-to-be who have not yet selected a pediatrician, obtaining emails from patients and updating the data base, and assessing patient/customer service related needs and recommending programs and outreach strategies that maximize patient service (i.e. following up with patients after their first visit). Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) and practical knowledge with Excel preferred. A minimum of 3 years within a patient health care setting is required.
