As a Sr. Linux Systems Engineer this position is primarily responsible for the uptime, deployment and maintenance of our public facing production systems. This position will provide vision, guidance, project management and hands on support to support the needs and projects of the game development platforms and their management. This includes providing strong technical direction, vision and leadership to manage the system architecture, security, design and operations processes. This position reports directly to the Director of Production Infrastructure and works closely with development teams.
Essential duties and responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Provide technical leadership and oversees public facing production systems.
Provide technical leadership and oversight of large cloud hosted infrastructure
Provide strong troubleshooting skills using experience and other available resources
Provide monitoring, disaster recovery, and system support
Maintain up-to-date detailed documentation and publishing; where applicable
Provide strong Project Management skills
Assist in ensuring 24x7 availability of services and infrastructure.

Knowledgeable on the following network technologies: IP, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, SNMP, IPSEC, iSCSI, NAS/SAN, DHCP, DNS
Structural understanding of AWS Elastic Block Store
Extensive experience with backup and disaster recovery best practices
Thorough understanding of Virtual Host Platforms including VMWare and Xen
Must be capable of independent self-direction
Desirable Experience in the video game development environment
Previous experience with: Windows server platforms
Experience working with a distributed IT team and the ability to assist less advanced technicians in their increased understanding of technologies
Education/experience/certifications Bachelor"s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from accredited institution and/or 5 plus years relevant experience
