Salve Regina University is seeking an Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator) / Assistant Club Sports Coordinator. This is a full-time position with benefits. Coordinating experience is preferred. Salve Regina University is located in historic and scenic Newport, RI and is situated on Newport’s Cliff Walk. The Seahawks are a member of the NCAA Division III and the New England Football Conference (NEFC).

Qualified candidates must be willing to assist the Head Coach with the planning and operation of all aspects of the football program. Assist the Head Coach with the recruitment and retention of football student-athletes and perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach.

Other duties and responsibilities include winter and spring game management as well as assisting with the club sports programs.

Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years coaching and related administrative experience required. Master’s degree preferred. The successful candidate will possess highly developed organizational skills, efficiency in computer usage and a high degree of self-motivation and dedication to all aspects of the intercollegiate program. A thorough understanding of football concepts strategies, fundamentals and techniques is required. Current CPR/First Aid and AED certification is highly desirable. Candidate must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities and good citizenship both on and off the field.
