The IT Enterprise Chief Architect provides technical leadership and coordinates support to Corporate IT, Business Unit IT organizations, and IIS Program Offices as requested.

The primary responsibilities of the Chief Architect are as follows:

Lead / represent IIS IT in Enterprise Architecture Activities including Reference Architecture Development and Update

Lead IIS-Level IT Technology Roadmap development and maintenance

Sponsor/Champion Major Technology and Innovation projects

Lead / chair IIS IT Technology / Architecture Review Board

Review and approve architecture documents and IT designs & projects presented by solutions architects, assist them with development of these items

Lead / support IIS IT IR&D activities, Technology investigations, and proposals as requested

Other duties include

Develop and maintain the repository of IIS IT documented architecture

Provide guidance to IIS IT with the development of Architecture documents

Review and approve technology proposals from sourcing partners

Ensure Architectural alignment with the strategic directions of IIS and Enterprise

Lead/Champion evaluation of emerging Commercial Technology trends for application within the RTN/IIS Enterprise and advise the SPAS Director and CIO on requisite investments

Establish and maintain an IIS IT Enterprise Architecture communication forum focused on communication and sharing of Innovations and Best Practices across the Business

Develop and maintain a strong Presence within the RTN IT Architecture Community. This must include engagement in RTN IT initiatives, submission to RTN/IIS IT Architecture communications and External IT Publications, and Participation/Presentation in yearly RTN IT Forum.

Will complete requirements for, and achieve Raytheon Architecture Certification per a plan established with the IIS IT Strategy, Projects & Application Services (SPAS) Director and IIS IT VP/CIO

Required Skills:
Proven architecture development and documentation background with 12+ years of directly related experience

Proven ability as an IT Solution Architect

Demonstrated success in a Senior Business Systems/Infrastructure role with proven ability related to design, specification, enhancement, and delivery of large-scale, networked computer systems, both hardware and software

Familiar with current industry practices in software/system development methodologies

Experience performing hardware/software product evaluation, trade analysis, configuration and enhancement support directly related to work-place or business optimization

Demonstrated success as a Computer Architect with emphasis in Enterprise, Application and Data Center Architecture

Proven ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization from the senior leadership team (SLT) to the individual contributors

Strong computer literacy - Microsoft Office and Architecture Tools

Raytheon Architecture Certification, either existing or a commitment to achieve certification within one year

Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain an active Top Secret with CI Poly security clearance required

Desired Skills:
Existing TS/SCI with CI or Full Scope Poly

Strong ability to achieve results in a matrix environment and energize a project team to deliver

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to debate, dialogue, negotiate, influence and work with others collaboratively and constructively

Knowledge of Leading Edge technologies and applications with a demonstrated ability to identify (through proactive IT industry research) and quickly understand and apply emerging capabilities and concepts

Understanding of all the phases of the software development lifecycle

Ability to work and/or manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors of Science Degree required, Information Technology or similar applicable BS/MS degree highly preferred.
