Job Summary :
The person hired for the position of Systems Administrator will maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations; perform data backups and disaster recovery operations; diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Installs new software releases
System upgrades
Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
Performs system backups and recovery
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
Creates and maintains documentation and procedures
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to travel for system installation and customer support
Location and Travel : The person hired for the position of Systems Administrator will be located in Clarksville , VA and may include up to 10% travel .
Relocation Benefits are not eligible for this position
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of three (3) years UNIX administration experience
U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Computer Software Engineering; Computer and Information Sciences or other Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics disciplines
Current DHS US-VISIT 6C Clearance status
Customer support experience
Have experience with IBM P595 servers, IBM P520 servers, IBM DS8300 san storage, and/or IBM XIV SAN storage
Experience with Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) backup software
Experience with SUSE Linux and/or Windows 2008
Effective facilitation, and communication skills
Ability to engage and influence the organization
Ability to multi-task and handle large workloads under time constraints
Ability to understand and apply analytical and statistics tools
Results oriented with strong process and execution skills
