This position oversees the daily responsibilities for HVAC mechanic licensed trade, as well a the ME Design obligations, professional field and office engineering work related to the planning, design, construction and maintenance of system wide projects and programs. Provides leadership and coaching at the project team level. Provides technical oversight and coordination of engineering work; through project meetings and other means, monitors progress against project schedules and budgets; recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals.
This position is responsible for directing the day to day activities of a team of HVAC mechanics as well as coordinating multidisciplinary projects for the Health Care System. This position is accountable for ensuring effective maintenance and provision of HVAC/Refrigertaion, pumps, pneumatic, electrical controls, ductwork, and related equipment to all facilities of Baystate medical Center, and its ancillary buildings. Conducts system wide advanced and complex engineering and related studies, manages projects with contractors, and other departments: administering professionals engineering services and constructions contracts. Provide professional assistance and technical advice to Facilities Project Managers.
Accountable for effective leadership and ensuring that all policies and procedures and work is performed in an efficient and cost effective manner. This position will work closely with other leadership positions throughout the organization and must have a strong ability to work as a team member in order to effect the successful completion of the short and long term objectives of Baystate Health. Provide leadership and coaching the team level. Ensure clear divisions of responsibility on all activities, facilitate teamwork, communicate clear expectations regarding team performance objectives, and promote accountability for individual behaviors and results, the ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of employee engagement practices, diversity as well as the ability to support the organizations mission and operating principles. Ability to adhere to system and department compliance's policies, and all applicable laws and regulations.
Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field. At least 10 years experience managing multimillion dollar MEP/Engineering projects with minimum of 5 years in management. Prior experience with Project Management, Construction, MEP Design or Facility Maintenance. Experience must be in an industrial or healthcare environment and include exposure or and management of capital projects. Must have prior experience managing multiple contractor and or vendor relationship, as well as experience with regulatory agencies. Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to facilitate efficient productive meetings and the ability to resolve conflicts in a professionals manner and a demonstrated history of satisfied clients. Strong organizational and project management skills. Sell motivated individual to manage multiple priorities, objectives and deadlines. Advance computer skills including Microsoft Office, Database Management, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and Computer Aided Facility Management Systems (CAFM).
