The Nuclear Quality and Requirements Department has an opening for a technologist to support nuclear requirement activities within the Sandia TA-V Nuclear Facilities Quality and Requirements department. This position will support the organization in fulfilling its mission of advancing nuclear technologies through applied radiation sciences and unique nuclear environments. The technologist will be accountable to assure field compliance with the TA-V Management System as governed by 10 CFR 830 Nuclear Safety along with applicable DOE nuclear facility orders and nuclear industry standards.
Specifically this position will accountable for the following activities:
-- Field verification and auditing of engineering, operations, and maintenance activities performed within the TA-V nuclear facilities.
-- Support operations and engineering personnel with technical requirements verification in systems maintenance, equipment modifications and upgrades, and operational activities.
-- Perform routine computer based data analysis to assess risk associated with systems and equipment in the TA-V nuclear facilities.
-- Perform field validation of technical requirements and their implementation as needed.
-- Support database information and configuration as it relates to nuclear facility systems, structures, and components.
-- Associates degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent level of education and experience;
-- Demonstrated ability to successfully understand and review technical drawings, technical specifications, and technical standards in a variety of disciplines;
-- Demonstrated skills requiring attention to technical detail;
-- High computer literacy with demonstrated ability to track and manipulate data from several sources;
-- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across diverse organizations.
-- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
-- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or Computer Science;
-- Comprehensive knowledge of quality engineering principles and applications;
-- Relevant experience in requirements tracking and field implementation;
-- Working knowledge of nuclear facility operations;
-- Familiarity with enterprise level computer systems and configuration management;
-- Demonstrated experience with maintenance management systems and engineering analysis tools;
-- Demonstrated experience with calibration and measurement systems used in equipment and systems performance applications.
