Work in our Residential Supported Living program based out of our Groton office. Will work on a per diem basis.
UCP specializes in supported living services to people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Over the past 15 years we have assisted adults, ranging in age from 21 to 80, to live independently their own home. The supported living services provided by UCP enable each person maximum independence, and provides them with person-centered supports, specific to their needs. Supported Living Services includes emergency, 24-hour, 7-days-a-week, on-call assistance.
Direct Support responsibilities include working in the clients home or in the community to assist clients in the areas of:
- daily living skills
- meal planning/preparation
- comparative shopping
- managing household finances
- household maintenance
- recreation and leisure activities
- medical appointments
- social skills training
- maintain cultural and religious affiliation and identification
At UCP, our objective is to enable individuals to live in the least restrictive environment as possible. To maximize opportunities for independence, optimal health and safety for individuals who are very medically and/or physically challenged, UCP offers services that include 24 hour per day support.
We are looking for self motivated individuals with experience working with people with physical and/or intellectual disabilities as a volunteer, with a family member or in a group home or day program.
Requirements: You Must have a drivers license and a car... you will be required to use your personal vehicle to transport clients. College graduates are preferred, but those with a high school diploma will be considered. CPR, First Aid and Med Certification are helpful to have.
