This experienced database administrator will possess deep technical knowledge and bring an established work history with Microsoft SQLserver to a high-availability, production environment. Individual will be a subject matter expert in SQLserver technologies and able to drive database direction and standards within the enterprise. This person will own the availability and performance of top revenue-producing databases and coordinates troubleshooting efforts across the infrastructure. Incumbent is a strong team player, who is comfortable leading database projects and mentoring global database team members in many areas of SQLserver database administration.

General Job Duties:
? == Leads tasks on project teams to deploy and maintain database technologies and database-dependent product releases.

? == Provides oversight to - or performs - database administration tasks, including: installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, tuning, and backup/recovery in a production envrionment.

? == Authors strategic, procedural, and standards documents for databases.

== Promotes and educates adherence to database policies within the enterprise.

? == Develops and publishes regular reports of database health, including analysis of output to formulate and implement proactive/corrective measures.

? == Mentors/Trains other database administrators in database support and triage.

? == Coordinates with business units to understand database requirements, and collaborate with network, storage,and system engineers to design and deploy optimal database architectures.

? == Owns troubleshooting investigations of our company's key internal and customer facing databases, and coordinate cross-discipline resolution of problems.

? == Stays abreast of database technogies, develops standards, and implements roadmap for rolling out relevant features and upgrades.

? == Reports to management regularly on database project status; calling out issues impacting technical or business goals, identifying areas of opportunity, and recommending action plans.

? == Participates in a global 24x7 on-call rotation.

? == Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific Job Duties:
? == Performs as a member of the Global Database Administration team.

? == Serves as a subject matter expert in SQLserver database technologies; advising on best practices, developing standards, and optimizing deployments.

? == Leads response to complex and escalated SQLserver operational issues and mentors other DBAs in evaluation and resolution of issues.

? == Analyzes SQLserver database performance data and usage trends to institute corrective actions, and predict future usage. Oversees deployment and management of SQLserver monitoring framework.

? == Implements SQLserver high-availability features (replication, clustering) features and insures a corporate database backup/recovery strategy is adopted and tested.

? == Liasons with Microsoft to stay abreast of SQLserver product releases and communicate and integrate relevant information within the DBA team. Tracks and manages SQLserver support cases with vendor.

Required Experience:
? ==Must have a minimum of 10 years Microsoft SQL server databases (2000, 2005, 2008) administration experience in a medium to large, multi-user environment.

? ==Must have a minimum of 5 years production DBA experience in a dispersed, medium size, multi server database environment.

== Must have experience in 24x7 production database operations

== Advanced user experience with SQLserver tools, including some/all of: SSMS (Management Studio), SSRS (Reporting Services), SSIS (Integration Services), SSAS (Analysis Services)

? == Deployment experience in Microsoft high-availability technologies, including clustering and replication.

? == Administator-level capability with Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows Server 2000/2003/2008)

? == Avanced TSQL scripting and query optimization ability.

? == Versatile in storage (NAS, SAN) and virtualization (VMware) technolgies.

? == Experience with other enterprise-class databases (Oracle, MySQL) and operating systems (Linux, Solaris) desirable.

? == Proven problem solving ability across IT disciplines.
