Exchange Administrator/Engineer

Job Functions

Provide a strategy to create a cohesive, collaborative risk assessment framework for the Departmental Exchange Options in relation to Cloud Interconnects Technology.
Provide support to administer MS Exchange 2010 in a Windows Operating System environment.
Participates in the design, development, troubleshooting and analysis of software programs that operate successfully with hardware systems.
Perform day to day operation of Exchange and Enterprise Vault environments which includes change, release, performance, and availability management.
Troubleshoot errors or performance degradation, determine the source, and then correct the problem.
Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of our Exchange and Enterprise Vault environments.
Provides inputs for documentation of new or existing programs to ensure information accessibility, as required.
Provides feedback and reports to management on the status and availability of software and hardware to ensure proper functioning.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
5 years of related systems engineering experience.
Ability to monitor, test and analyze e-mail system activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability
Ability to analyze e-mail system for system usage and plan for growth or increases in system capacity
Ability to identify and resolve problems affecting messaging systems performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner
Ability to assess the need for any messaging system reconfigurations (minor or significant)
Ability to maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use
Knowledge of multi-site geographically dispersed fault tolerant Exchange 2010 environment
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2010 including experience with mailbox server failover and cluster management
Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange PowerShell commands needed to manage Exchange 2010 features, roles, mailboxes, performance and troubleshooting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with MS Office applications including MS Project, Visio with knowledge of Office Outlook 2010 features, configuration and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of proper IT security procedures, positive customer interface skills; strong troubleshooting and conflict resolution skills
Experience with VMware products; Vsphere, ESX/ESXi 4.0/5.0
Experience working in a team-oriented collaborative environment
Experience troubleshooting client related issues and problems related to Outlook
Ability to act as subject matter expert and trainer to helpdesk and desktop support technicians for problems related to Exchange 2010 and Outlook 2010.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008 Server R2 and Windows Active Directory
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
Experience with migration of Exchange 2010
Ability to conduct research into server issues and products as required
Experience with Symantec Enterprise Vault (archiving)
Qualifications Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. Degrees Equivalent Experience/Education
